Opportunity to Shape Research and Innovation

Opportunity to Shape Research and Innovation

Healthwatch Sheffield are working with researchers from the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) to recruit people for a Public Involvement in Research Group (PIRG).

The AWRC has recently opened at Sheffield Hallam University and is home to researchers who are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the population through designing and creating innovations that help people move.

To read more about the AWRC visit their website.

The PIRG aims to support the development and delivery of high quality research. The public will be able to directly support, challenge and participate in the design and delivery of research. The group will enable researchers to engage and listen to the public.

Group members will meet virtually or face to face and regularly review ongoing research, new applications for grants and the development of new ideas and products that aim to help people to move more and improve their wellbeing.

You don’t need any qualifications or any knowledge of research. A willingness to participate in discussions and provide views is all that is required. Training and support will be offered. The opportunity is voluntary, but participation is highly valued, and travel and subsistence will be paid.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
