    Face Coverings  : Why and How to Wear Them Safely

    From 8 August face coverings need to be worn in additional indoor settings, unless you are exempt from wearing a face covering. We’re reminding you that Greg Fell, Director of Public Health in Sheffield, in his July video ,explained the importance of wearing face coverings correctly with continued social distancing and hygiene. He emphasised that the most important ways to control the pandemic are to stay at home if you have symptoms, keep your distance where possible, wash your hands frequently and wear a face covering in enclosed public spaces if you are able to do so.

    Call to 'Be Kind' to People Who Are Exempt from Wearing Face Coverings

    The government has produced new guidance and a new range of exemption cards calling for the public and businesses to be mindful of and act sensitively towards people who are exempt from wearing a face covering. This comes at a time when charities are asking the government to listen to and better understand the concerns of disabled people and to do more to promote awareness around who is exempt from the face mask rules following reports of disabled people facing hostility from the public and businesses. When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
