    Museum  Gets Changing Places

    One of Sheffield’s most popular museums has now become more accessible thanks to the installation of a Changing Places toilet. The new addition at Weston Park Museum is funded by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities with support from Sheffield City Council and in association with Muscular Dystrophy UK.

    Changing Places Compulsory from 2021

    Changing Places toilets are larger accessible toilets with a wider range of facilities than standard accessible toilets, and include hoists, changing benches and space for carers. From 2021 new buildings including shopping centres, supermarkets, sports and arts venues in England will have to include at least one Changing Places toilet.The government’s announcement will be a major change for building rules in England.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
