New Healthy Living Toolkits

New Healthy Living Toolkits

Research shows that people with learning disabilities are significantly more likely to experience health conditions which are linked to factors such as poor eating habits and low levels of physical activity.

A new set of healthy living toolkits developed by the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Learning Disabilities and Autism Collaborative, aim to address these longstanding health inequalities by providing guidance on better nutrition, hydration and physical activity to help people with learning disabilities lead healthier and happier lives.

Their Healthy Living Toolkits provide clear, accessible guidance tailored to :-

  • People with lived experience: standard and easy read versions
  • Family/friend carers
  • Adult social care
  • Carer providers
  • GP practice staff
  • Other healthcare professionals

You can download the toolkits on the Collaborative’s Website

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
