Moving out of Lockdown Advice

Moving out of Lockdown Advice

The Government’s roadmap out of lockdown calendar moves onto a further stage today as part of the country’s slow easing out of Covid restrictions.

This includes shops and indoor hospitality e.g.restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes re-opening and up to 6 people or 2 households being able to meet indoors. However a new COVID-19 variant is spreading in some parts of England and the government is urging caution during this phase in order to continue to stay safe. New guidance on meeting friends and family emphasises personal responsibility rather than government rules.

For full guidance on the lifting of restrictions and keeping yourself and other safe see GOV.UK

Sheffnews provides a local update and Sheffield City Council has a page summarising rules and restrictions.

The government has made this easy read guide which explains each step in the plans to move out of lockdown in England and you can find more Easy Read guides on Mencap’s website.

If getting ‘back to normal’ is causing worries, there are lots of ways to make this time easier. Visit the Every Mind Matters COVID-19 hub for simple tips and advice.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
