LGBTQ+ Carer Needs

Are you a member of the LGBTQ+ community and have experienced caring for a person with severe mental illness?

Kings College London is funding research into to better understand the experiences of informal/unpaid caregivers within the LGBTQ+ community. The research will provide a better understanding of the support needs of LGBTQ+ carers and offer guidance for systems and organisations working with LGBTQ+ carers.

Lucy, the researcher is a second-year trainee clinical psychologist at King’s College London. Lucy is gay and has lived experience of caring for someone with a severe mental health
condition. If you want to know more about the project, or have any questions, please contact Lucy at lucy.manning@kcl.ac.uk

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
