John's Campaign Survey on Care Home Visiting

John's Campaign Survey on Care Home Visiting

Do you have a family member or friend living in a care home ? Is access improving? Is family contact becoming more meaningful and appropriate? If not, where do the problems lie?

Healthwatch Sheffield, Disability Sheffield, Sheffield Carers Centre and Age UK Sheffield are all supporting a survey by John’s Campaign, which wants to make sure that people can visit relatives in care homes safely. John’s campaign challenges the current enforced separation of family and friends, when one member lives in a care home, particularly if that family member is living with a disability, such as dementia.

You can share your experiences about how current visiting arrangements are working in a survey by John’s campaign on Healthwatch Sheffield’s website.

This survey can help Healthwatch Sheffield see what visiting is like for you, and whether more needs to be done to support you and your relative or friend to have meaningful contact. The closing date for the survey is 30th November 2020.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
