It's Our Community Conference

It's Our Community Conference

Part of the Festival of Debate, this conference at Victoria Hall Methodist Church on Thursday 18 May 2023 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, focuses on the future of care and support being in our neighbourhoods.

The response to the COVID pandemic revealed the enormous capacity of citizens to provide mutual support and keep each other safe.
There are new peer powered ways of working for citizens and professionals, cutting out bureaucracy, trusting citizens and empowering frontline workers.

Citizen Network and the Neighbourhood Democracy Movement invite you to join them to meet the people who are taking action in their local neighbourhoods, and those working behind the scenes to create the systems we need for the future.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
