UPDATE: The scheme has been extended to April 25 Unless the new government extends the scheme, the Household Support Fund is scheduled to close at the end of September 2024. If you have not claimed a grant in the 3 months before your application you can still apply for financial assistance with the cost of living until then.
The fund can help to support people who are struggling to afford:-
- food and housekeeping costs(groceries, toiletries, baby essentials etc)
telephone and broadband (mobile phones, top-ups, broadband charge etc) - gas and electricity
- clothing, including school uniforms
- white goods
- wider essential needs not linked to energy and water should local authorities consider this appropriate in their area.
Please note it cannot be used for ( amongst other things ) mortgage costs, rent or housing arrears under normal circumstances.
