Have you been Affected by Food Poverty ?

The Covid-19 crisis has pushed individuals and families into financial hardship and some people do not have enough money to afford to eat a nutritiously adequate diet.

Sheffield City Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee has set up a working group to look at Food Poverty in Sheffield. They are really keen to hear directly from people who have been affected by Food Poverty so have established a ‘Call for Evidence’ running until the 14th March.

The cross-party group of Sheffield City Councillors is keen to hear about, and understand people’s experience of food poverty in the city, so that they can make recommendations on how to improve things.

“We want to hear about what you think is important – this might be how food poverty has affected you, how easy it has been to access support and help, whether it’s the right kind of support, what’s working well, and what could be improved”.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
