Get Ready For The Big Festival Of Debate

The Festival Of Debate returns to Sheffield later this Spring, promising a wide range of talks and interactive events which will be held at venues across the city during April, May and June.

Among those taking part this year is comedian and disability rights campaigner Francesca Martinez (pictured) who will be at the Sheffield Students’ Union Auditorium on Thursday May 10th. Others participants include former Labour Party leader and Doncaster MP Ed Milliband, and Sheffeld resident, writer and former Great British Bake-Off contestant Ruby Tandoh. As well as appearances by famous faces there will also be localised events featuring groups including Sheffield Save Our NHS.

It will be the fourth year the festival has taken place in Sheffield and there will be more than 75 events this time, with 10,000 tickets available. The organisers have attempted to make all events as accessible as possible and details can be found in their downloadable brochure. It all starts on April 18 and runs until June 29.
Details of all events can be found here.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
