Disability Pride Month Free Webinar

Disability Pride Month Free Webinar

There are currently 16 million Disabled people in the UK, with Disability Pride Month in July coming to the UK in 2015. The aim of the month is to move away from stigmatised understandings of disability that presents impairments as individual burdens and instead celebrate Disabled people’s creativity, resilience, and achievements.

Join SCOPE to explore what Disability Pride in July means at their free online event ( on Zoom ), ‘Turning Prejudice into Pride’ on Wednesday 23 July 2025 from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Inspiring disabled speakers will share their stories and experiences. Discuss changing attitudes, debunking myths, and celebrating identity. Expect honest talks, powerful insights, and opportunities to share your thoughts.

The hosts are :

· Tumi Sotire – founder of The Black Dyspraxic and award-winning voice for intersectionality and neuro-inclusion.

· Samantha Renke – broadcaster, actor and disability rights campaigner

· Zahraa Al-Jameel – autistic advocate, law student and content creator.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
