Coronavirus Information and Support

Coronavirus Information and Support

At Disability Sheffield, as everywhere, our focus in the past week has been the impact of the Coronavirus and social isolation and distancing. For us as an organisation, for our staff and volunteers and more importantly for our clients and all disabled people in Sheffield. We are putting plans into place and having discussions with the council in terms of support for people who access social care which we’ll share with you as soon as we can.

In a time of uncertainty it’s crucial to remain positive. Today the 20th of March is #InternationalDayOfHappiness with this year’s theme being “Happier Together: Focusing on what we have in common, rather than what divides us” advising us to Keep Calm. Stay Wise. Be Kind. We’re determined to face the challenges in that spirit.

There’s so much information coming in day by day that we’ve decided to set up a Coronavirus Information and Support webpage where you can access key websites as we hear of them to hopefully find some of the answers you’re looking for. Simply click on the blue box on our Homepage to take you to ‘Coronavirus Information and Support’ . We’ll be adding a lot more local information particularly around adult social care, individual employers and PAs and community support as we go along so please revisit the page to keep up to date.

If you have any topics you’d like to see included or want to let us know about, if you have any enquiries we can help with, if you have any good news about what’s happening in your community or a personal story you’d like to share with others please do email us at info@disabilitysheffield.org.uk .

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
