Call for PLACE Patient Assessors

Call for PLACE Patient Assessors

Could you be a volunteer PLACE Patient Assessor for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals?

They are looking for people to carry out patient-led assessments of the care environment in clinical areas focusing on how well the environment meets people’s needs. Recent personal experience of in-patient care is useful, though not essential. This could be as a patient, relative, carer, friend, patient advocate, volunteer or trust member and trust governor.

More information is available here.

An information session about the assessments is taking place in the Boardroom in the Clocktower on Wednesday 17th September 2025 at 1pm, however, people don’t have to attend the session to carry out an assessment.

The dates of the assessments are yet to be confirmed but will take place in September and October.

Please contact Paige Beckett at“paige.beckett@nhs.net”:mailto:paige.beckett@nhs.net or Charlotte Keasey at charlotte.keasey@nhs.net if you are interested in participating in this volunteering opportunity.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
