    Healthy Living : Carers Focus Group

    Our new ‘Healthy Living’ coproduction project aims to make Sheffield community based physical activity, exercise and health groups more accessible to people who are autistic, have a learning disability or live with severe mental ill health. As part of our research we are holding a focus group for carers ( including lunch ) on Tues 24th May 2022 from 10am to 12noon.

    Our Sheffied Voices self-advocacy drama group has developed a play ‘Welcome to Sunny Smiles Care Home’ about the best ( or possibly the Worst ! ) care home around…. which we are showcasing on 4th May at 5.30pm to 6.30 pm at the Showroom Workstation, 15 Paternoster Row Sheffield. If you have a learning disability and want to learns some acting skills we are also looking for new participants for our next adventure starting on 13th May.

    Are you autistic and enjoy music or singing? In partnership with Burton Street Foundation, The Autistic Adult Choir are starting a free group in Sheffield! They are looking for adults who like to sing or listen to music, who are autistic (no formal diagnosis needed) who might like to be part of a choir that meets once a week. No musical knowledge is necessary.

    Putting Active Disabled People In The Picture

    Disability Rights UK has teamed up with the Centre For Ageing Better to launch ‘Picture Yourself Active’, a new, publicly accessible image library of over 300 photos depicting older and disabled people getting active to challenge pervasive negative stereotypes. The images include some from Disability Sheffield’s Sheffield Cycling 4 All project at Hillsborough Park.
