Wintry Weather Alert and Tips

Frost, snow and freezing temperatures have been forecast for the Sheffield area towards the end of this month – so we want to make sure that you stay safe and sound.

Sheffield City Council has published a Winter Information website page and you can also sign up for news and alerts on a variety of topics (including weather problems) to be delivered either to your email address or mobile phone number.

The Council has also issued advice on preventing damp and condensation at home and if you have to step outside it will be useful to find out the state of the roads and pavements and what roads have been gritted in the case of snow and ice. You can also discover where your nearest grit bin is and report if it needs filled.

The council also advises people to look on the Water UK site for advice on how to avoid frozen and burst pipes.

Finally, if you have any health concerns you should contact the NHS’s Help Us Help You Stay Well site for information to help you keep healthy this winter,

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
