Sheffield Mencap and Gateway Carers Outreach

Sheffield Mencap and Gateway Carers Outreach

Are you a carer who cares for an adult with learning disabilities or autism? Do you feel isolated in this current situation? Would you like to meet like-minded people and find out about exciting activities and events?

If so you can join Sheffield Mencap and Gateway’s Coffee Mornings on the first Monday of every month over Zoom to listen to relevant guest speakers and meet new people. Carers and cared for adults are welcome. The first coffee morning is on 5 October 2020 View Poster

If you love singing Sheffield Mencap and Gateway is also offering a fun Virtual Christmas Choir for adults with learning disabilities and autism and their carers across Sheffield. Facilitated by Liv, who is a professional singer from Sheffield Mencap & Gateway, staff will also perform Makaton to accompany the songs.

Rehearsals start on Thursday 1 October on ZOOM View Poster

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
