New Service offering Respite and Support to Carers in Sheffield

Holmes Adult Carer Service have set up a new service in Sheffield for carers to access respite and support, aiming to help prevent carer breakdown.

Support is offered at respite hubs in venues throughout Sheffield, which provide a non-clinical environment for carers to relax. The hubs provide carers with respite, emotional and practical support to enable them to continue in their caring role. The service provides a safe, comfortable and non clinical environment where you can leave the person you care for, for up to 6 hours at a time so you can have a break.

The cost is £30 a day and funding may be available via social services to help pay this cost, which is something Holmes Adult Carers Service can help clients look into.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
