Government Loses Court of Appeal Case over Bedroom Tax

The Court of Appeal has ruled that the so-called bedroom tax discriminates against a victim of domestic violence and the family of a disabled teenager . The ruling followed legal challenges by a woman who has a panic room in her home and the grandparents of a 15-year-old who requires overnight care . Their grandson has a rare genetic disorder which means he is unable to walk or talk, cannot feed himself and needs 24-hour care. His family’s spare room is used by carers, who sometimes stay overnight, and to store the medical equipment he needs. There are believed to be thousands of severely disabled children in this situation. Ministers have said they will appeal and the case is now due to be decided in the Supreme Court. View BBC News

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
