Cold Weather Tips

Cold Weather Tips

Wintry weather is back with a vengeance in the Sheffield area at the moment so the Winter is not over yet and there may be more to come. We hope you stay safe, sound and as warm as possible.

Sheffield City Council has published a Winter Information page, where you can sign up to find out about topics such as the state of the roads and whether schools and public buildings are closed and household tips such as how to avoid frozen and burst pipes.

The council’s Twitter site also tweets advice including a list of Welcoming Places where you can get and stay warm ( if you can get to them of course ! ) put together by Voluntary Action Sheffield.

Disability Sheffield’s Cost of Living Page will signpost you to cost of living support in the city, including energy advice and our cost of living blogs.

Plus have a look at the NHS’s How To Stay Well In Winter site for information to help you during cold weather.

If you’ve any tips to further useful links to information please let us know in the comments box and please check on vulnerable friends and neighbours if you can.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
