Are you Affected by Town Centre Changes ?

Are you Affected by Town Centre Changes ?

Has your town or city centre been changed due to the coronavirus crisis and has this limited or affected your ability to access it in any way?

Activist group Disabled People Against Cuts is compiling a dossier that they hope to present to local authorities to encourage them to not make alterations that adversely affect disabled people.

Changes already noted include floating bus stops or measures to make more space for tables or bikes which make it unsafe for wheelchair users and people with a visual impairment. Blue badge spaces may have been suspended or permanently lost and you may no longer be able to park close enough to shops or essential services or have been forced to miss an appointment etc..

If any changes have been detrimental to you please email DPAC with details of the problem you had, the changes and when they were made (if you know) and the location/town/area at mail@dpac.uk.net

If you would like to learn more about actions taken in this area you can join DPAC Sheffield.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
