Short Term Care Consultation

Sheffield City Council have launched a survey asking for your views about short-term care for older people. The information from this survey will be used to help Sheffield City Council produce a short-term care strategy for older people. The survey closes on 25th September.The consultation is primarily for unpaid carers, social care workers and anyone using short-term care to complete.

COVID-19 Independent Living Survey

Shaping Our Lives has launched a new survey asking d/Deaf and Disabled people what impact the COVID-19 lockdown has had on their independent living. There are 10 sections in the survey and many of the questions have a choice of answers. You are able to skip any question you wish and all answers will be kept anonymous. The findings will be used to tell people in national and local government the support d/Deaf and disabled people need to get back to living independently, feeling safe and confident.

Share Your Thoughts on Staying Physically Active

There has been a variety of guidance around keeping physically active, as well as a variety of content created for disabled people and for people who may be unable to leave the house around getting active at home. Reports Reveal the Social Impact of Coronavirus on Disabled People

The Office for National Statistics has published its second statistical bulletin in the series Coronavirus and the social impacts on disabled people in Great Britain, . Amongst other findings the report shows disabled people were more likely to report that the pandemic and its effects are negatively impacting their mental health compared to non-disabled people and are also more likely to report they feel lonely. Disabled people are much less likely to report having left their home to exercise or to work, and are twice as likely to say they feel very unsafe outside their home compared to non- disabled people.You can also read the general findings from a recent survey on Shielding carried out by Disability Rights UK saying that disabled people feel isolated, alone and forgotten.

MPs ask 'Have you been able to get the food you need during the Coronavirus pandemic?'

MPs have created a survey seeking a range of views from the public on whether the response of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to the Coronavirus has been sufficient.The answers and examples to this survey will be used by the Committee to inform future questioning to the Government and the survey will be open until 5pm on 28th April.

Disability Arts Access Scheme for the UK

The four UK Arts Councils have commissioned a feasibility study to determine whether a UK wide arts access card scheme is wanted, is needed and is financially possible. The feasibility study is seeking additional detailed feedback from disabled and D/deaf people and disability organisations throughout the UK, on key questions which will determine the scope and some operational aspects of the scheme.
