Lived Experience Roles

Lived Experience Roles

Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust provide a range of mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services to the people of Sheffield.

The Trust is delivering a series of human rights training for their staff and are seeking people with lived experience of their services to coproduce and co-deliver the training modules.

The Trust explains that:

“People with lived experience of the support we provide offer an invaluable insight on what it’s like to receive care. By sharing those lived experiences you can help us identify where we could make improvements and understand more the experience of people who use our services. Sharing your lived experience will help make a real difference to other people who are in the same position you were.

That’s why we’re very excited to share the following lived experience roles that you can apply for. All of our lived experience roles are available as paid or volunteer roles. We are offering you a choice on whether your role will be paid or not because of the implications of taking on paid work if you claim certain benefits.”

The various Lived Experience roles and more details, included how to apply, are on the Trust’s website.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
