    Are you autistic, have a learning disability or severe mental illness? Do you want to take part in a physical activity group or class but feel too nervous to go on your own? We can work with services to encourage them to provide you with peer support. Just contact us and tell us what activity you want to do, where and when it is.

    Our Get Active buddying scheme is a pilot project to support people to attend a physical activity in their local community. if you’d like to help people with a learning disability, severe mental illness or autistic people get more active and can volunteer for a few hours a week on a Monday or Tuesday to attend an activity with a disabled person, we would love to hear from you!

The project also supports mystery shoppers to try out activities and give feedback.

    Our new ‘Healthy Living’ coproduction project aims to make Sheffield community based physical activity, exercise and health groups more accessible to people who are autistic, have a learning disability or live with severe mental ill health. As part of our research we are holding a focus group for carers ( including lunch ) on Tues 24th May 2022 from 10am to 12noon.

    We are launching a new co-production project that’s aiming to make healthy living and physical activity opportunities more accessible for adults with a learning disability, autism or severe mental illness. We’re currently looking for people with lived experience to join our steering group – if you are an adult with autism, severe mental illness or a learning disability, or you support someone with one of these conditions, we’d love to hear from you!
