Let's Make Some Noise : VAS Awards Ceremony

Voluntary Action Sheffield is hailing the city’s ‘quiet heroes’ at an awards ceremony next month – and you are welcome to attend.

The annual celebration honours the individuals and organisations working to make a difference to the lives of people and communities in the area. The organisers say: “We have had a fantastic response with nominations from individuals, voluntary/ community/ faith groups, charitable organisations and social enterprises working in Sheffield.”

The ceremony takes place from 7-11pm on Thursday November 22nd at the Octagon Centre, Western Bank. Although nominations have closed and the shortlists have been announced, everyone is invited to join the party, cheer on the winners and to raise some funds for the organisation, which has been supporting local groups and organisations for 90 years to ensure that Sheffield has a vibrant voluntary and community sector. VAS works citywide to support organisations of all sizes with a range of issues and needs, as well as representing the voice of the sector and ensuring its voice is heard.

Tickets for the event are available for a suggested £5 donation from here.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
