Coping With Covid-19 Online Course

Coping With Covid-19 Online Course

Is the Coronavirus crisis leaving you stressed-out and anxious? Well you’re far from alone, which is why a locally-based mental health association has set up a free online course to try and get you through it.

Sheffield IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) is part of Sheffield Health and Social Care and is an NHS adult service offering a range of free psychological therapies to over 12,000 people each year who work and/or live in the city.

Their Coping With Covid-19 online course consists of four sessions looking at different emotional responses to the coronavirus outbreak and offering simple skills and techniques to help cope with this. Each session is around half an hour long with time after to ask questions and focuses on a different theme each week.

There are four subjects covered – calming your body, maintaining routine, managing worry and finally problem-solving and sleep. You are advised to watch every session so you don’t miss any important information.

The next course is scheduled to start on Thursday 7th May between 6-7pm. You can book a place by filling in this form or by telephoning 0114 271 6568.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
