Adaptive Underwear Collection

Adaptive Underwear Collection

High Street retail company Primark has launched a new collection of lingerie to help people who may have difficulty using ‘normal’ fastenings and fabrics.

Their Adaptive Collection has been ‘specifically designed with accessibility in mind’ and innovations include magnetic front fastenings on bras and secure and stylish adaptive period pants, designed without a single zip, snap or button

They say: “Functionality and practicality are at the forefront of this collection — our top priority alongside making our customers look and feel good. Each piece has been carefully co-designed with technical specialists, disability advocates and disabled people to understand our customers’ needs”

You can see the collection here, here, modelled by three women with different physical impairments.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
