The government has announced that from 20th September, 6 million people who are paid certain disability benefits will receive an automatic one-off cost of living £150 payment. GOV.UK also has a new page about the various schemes to help with household costs.

Now Then magazine has published an article following their Freedom of Information request to South Yorkshire Police showing that disability hate crime figures rose to 441 in 2021, a 77% increase since 2018.Campaigners claim that this figure may still be lower than the actual incidence due to disabled people reluctance to report incicents and encourage disabled people to report hate crime if thay have been victimised.
