Sheffield Cycling 4 All Gets New Bikes Boost

Sheffield Cycling 4 All ( SC4A ) are riding high and would like to say a massive thank you to HTK podcast listeners, who raised almost £2000 to buy them new equipment.

The HTK Podcast, which specialises in broadcasts and interviews about mountain biking and action sports, decided to raise cash for Sheffield Cycling 4 All, Disability Sheffield’s accessible cycling project. The project opens cycling up for everyone no matter what their disability is and holds regular well attended twice weekly sessions every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am -12.30pm and 1-3pm in Hillsborough Park.

The money raised was used to purchase four additional bikes and a specialist tricycle, which were handed over by Davi Birks from the podcast to Sheffield Cycling 4 All project co-ordinator Rosemary Hill and volunteer Jamie Preece ( pictured ). The podcast also made a donation to Pedal Ready, which offers cycling training for people – including those with mental health problems – in South Yorkshire.

Sheffield Cycling 4 All is always on the lookout for volunteers or anyone willing to help in any other way. You can do this by looking at their website or telephoning or texting 07565 695296 from 9am-5pm Tuesday to Thursday.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
