Household Support Fund

Household Support Fund

Now that funding has been used up for the Covid-19 Emergency Assistance Grant, this month sees the launch of a new Household Support Fund, established by the Department for Work and Pensions, to support people most in need this winter during the final stages of economic recovery.

The fund can help to support people who are struggling to afford:-

  • food and housekeeping costs(groceries, toiletries, baby essentials etc)
telephone and broadband (mobile phones, top-ups, broadband charge etc)
  • gas and electricity
  • clothing, including school uniforms
  • white goods
  • wider essential needs not linked to energy and water should local authorities consider this appropriate in their area.

Please note it cannot be used for ( amongst other things ) mortgage costs,
rent or housing arrears under normal circumstances.

More information about the fund is available on Sheffield City Council’s website.

You can apply online here for the Household Support Fund.

If you need help to apply call Sheffield City Council on 0114 273 4567 (Option 0).

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
