We, Disabled people, are 20% of the population. We are friends, family members, colleagues, and neighbours. We are part of society and contribute to all aspects of life – We Belong. This is a pivotal moment for disabled people. It is 25 years after the Disability Discrimination Act. We are reeling from the impacts of Coronavirus. And it is just months before the government publishes its National Disability Strategy. Join us for a get together of disabled people, to share our stories, learn from one another and to contribute to a better future.
The conference will be held online, using Zoom. The event is hosted by Sophie Morgan, the award-winning disability advocate and social entrepreneur. It will include interviews with life-long campaigners such as Baroness Jane Campbell. We will celebrate our contribution and share the early outcomes of our We Belong campaign. We will also explore what the government’s forthcoming National Disability Strategy should include.
