CANCELLED - The Cheese Shop: Has the Care Act given us any choice? 6.30 - 8.30pm

Thursday 16th April

EVENT CANCELLED

Due to current events this event, and the entire Festival of Debate has been canclled.

As part of the Festival of Debate 2020 Disability Sheffield are hosting this thought provoking debate. This free event takes place at The Circle, Sheffield, and asks the question “Has the Care Act given us any choice?”

The Care Act offered up a promise of choice and control for disabled people. Has this promise been fulfilled? Or was it, like Monty Python’s famous cheese shop, empty? Join Disability Sheffield in conversation with Luke Clements, Cerebra Professor of Law & Social Justice at Leeds University as we explore this issue. To book your place at this FREE event visit this link: Book your place.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
