Could you help develop a new mental health service? - 10:00am-1pm

Tuesday 23rd April

This event at the Circle, 33 Rockingham Way Sheffield S1 4FW, is for users of mental health services to have their say on what they think of a Spiritual & Wellbeing Ambassador role. The role is to support people who attend hospital in crisis.

Sheffield City Council Mental Health Commissioning Team’s idea is to have a group of volunteers to be available for people to talk to, offering reassurance and support but (if needed) some spiritual support and if they are of the same faith, to offer practical one to one support (such as praying or reading scripture) However all in all the Ambassadors will be there to be a calming & kind influence to people who want it or require it.

The team will offer you a light hearted day and also refreshments and plenty of breaks.
It will be a great opportunity for you to be involved in developing a new role.

We look forward to seeing you on the day!

If you, or someone you know would be interested in attending, please email Andy Wallace (Commissioning Officer for Mental Health)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
