Get Involved

We are a user-led organisation

Wherever possible we make sure that people with lived experience are at the centre all our work and the services we offer. Being led by lived experience as much as possible ensures that all our work is co-produced and that the changes we are working to deliver are the ones that make the most difference to people.

Volunteering

If you are thinking of volunteering, we have an excellent track record in supporting a diverse range of volunteers. Have a look at the current volunteer opportunities at Disability Sheffield and get involved in the delivery of our services to meet the needs of disabled people and communities across the city.

Events and Activities

Change your city!

We support a pan-disability network of people across the city to shape how Sheffield works for them: everything from transport and accessibility, to employment, direct payments and more. Our members influence local decisions in a huge range of ways, including formal consultations and policy discussions, but also drama and film productions to get their experiences across and many, many more.

We are currently redeveloping a lot of this work behind the scenes to make sure we are empowering our community as effectively as we can. We expect this work to be complete by the early summer. If you would like to join our movement and help shape Sheffield for the better, please sign up to our newsletter below for now and look out for details of how to get actively involved shortly!

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
