NHS Northern Health Centre Hub Consultation Information

The South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (formerly Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group) has launched a consultation today on their proposals to locate several existing GP surgeries in several new hub sites. We are keen to hear your views on these proposals and will be running focus group events to ensure that anything not captured in the consultation survey form is captured.

The affected surgeries are as follows:

  • Burngreave Surgery.
  • Sheffield Medical Centre.
  • Herries Road Surgery.
  • Cornerstone Building.
  • Page Hall Medical Centre.
  • Upwell Street Surgery.
  • Firth Park Surgery.
  • Shiregreen Medical Centre.
  • Melrose Surgery.
  • The Health Care Surgery.
  • Buchanan Road Surgery.
  • Margetson Surgery.

The links on the left give a little more information. You will also need to look at the full details of the proposal which can be found here and we recommend you read this before completing the consultation survey. You can contact us at consultations@disabilitysheffield.org.uk: if you have any accessibility difficulties using the materials prepared by the NHS.

The next consultation event run by Disability Sheffield will be held online on Monday the 26th of September at 2pm. Please email consultations@disabilitysheffield.org.uk if you would like to take part and discuss the proposals. This follows on from our first session that took place on Monday the 22nd of August. We are also arranging to host sessions with several partner organisations and specialist groups including:

  • Sheffield Voices for people with learning difficulties or autism. (Date to be arranged).
  • Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind for people experiencing sight loss on the 21st of September. This session will include extra description for maps where details are difficult to produce in a clear alternative format. Contact SRSB for details.
  • …and other organisations where we will share details when confirmed.

In addition to the above the Deaf Advice Service are running a specific session for the Deaf community. They will publicise their event through their usual communication channels. We will attend the session to ensure we have the full picture of impact.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
