Adult Social Care Consultation

Sheffield City Council is consulting about increasing the cost of living allowance for people living at home and paying contributions towards their care and support. They are keen to hear people’s views and feedback can be given in different ways. The consultation runs until 16 February 2021.

Short-term Care for Older People Survey Analysis
27 October 2020
Sheffield City Council launched an online survey in July 2020 asking for residents’ views about short-term care for older people. Respondents indicated their priorities and suggestions for short term care including ideas such as coastal respite opportunities for person and carer, personalised outcome based breaks, and morning and evening respite options.

Caring Behind Closed Doors Survey

Carers UK, an organisation designed to help the 6.5 million people in the UK who care for older, disabled or seriously ill loved ones, has set up a new survey about the effects of Coronavirus on carers’ lives and on the lives of people they care for over the last five months. The results of an earlier survey were effectively used to campaign for more support for carers and better recognition of their needs. The closing date of the survey is Sunday September 27.

Sheffield University is looking for entries to ‘I’ll be here in the morning’, a digital exhibition celebrating our community of care and designed to “give a voice to the unheard and put faces to the unseen”. The deadline for submissions is 20 September.

Sheffield City Council Adult Social Care have collected together a range of information in an effort to support organisations providing care services in Sheffield.As well as a webpage for all the latest news and guidance relating to COVID-19 confidential helplines and apps are available.Sheffield City Council Adult Social Care explain that they “recognise the pressure that you are under as managers and the need you may have to talk things through with someone experienced in social care.”

Short Term Care Consultation

Sheffield City Council have launched a survey asking for your views about short-term care for older people. The information from this survey will be used to help Sheffield City Council produce a short-term care strategy for older people. The survey closes on 25th September.The consultation is primarily for unpaid carers, social care workers and anyone using short-term care to complete.

Petition - Solve the Crisis in Social Care

This petition asks the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock to solve the crisis in Social Care,pointing out that this issue is just as important as Brexit, if not more so. Chris Sterry, a local carer, highlights the wider impact of the delay to the Green Paper on Social Care on health services and the health of carers.
